School job scam, TMC seeks time-bound probe in ED case against minister
On Sunday, the TMC sought a deadline-bound inquiry into the Enforcement Directorate's case against Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, who was arrested. The party vowed not to intervene politically if any of its leaders were found to have committed a wrongdoing. On July 22, ED personnel conducted raids at several locations throughout Bengal as part of their investigation into the financial links to a teacher recruitment fraud at government-sponsored and -aided schools. According to sources, millions of rupees in cash and other valuables were purportedly seized from the home of a woman who is reportedly Chatterjee, the industries minister who once held the education position.
